The core curriculum for both the M.A. and D.M.A. degrees is the foundation of the program with four semesters of concurrent classes in literature and conducting focusing on the Renaissance (Semester I), Baroque (Semester II), Classical/Romantic (Semester III) and music of the 20^th/21^st Century (Semester IV).  Supplementing this core curriculum are courses in musicology and music theory, instrumental conducting, and voice training.
