Honors Orchestra

The University of Iowa is excited to announce the Hawkeye Honors Music Festival, February 17-18, 2018 in our new Iowa City state-of-the-art performance facilities.

Saturday rehearsals will be held in Voxman Music Building (93 East Burlington St.) and the Sunday dress rehearsal and concert will be in Hancher Auditorium (Park Road). The 2018 Hawkeye Honors Orchestra will be conducted by Dr. William LaRue Jones, Director of Orchestras and Opera.

The fee for participation is the Festival is $25, which includes lunch Saturday and Sunday, an Honors Festival T-shirt and the Hancher performance. Information regarding payment will be sent after orchestra members have been selected.

Please complete and submit the Iowa Honor Orchestra Application by December 11, 2017. (Note the early application date).

1:30/2:30 PM Honor Orchestra Rehearsal II (Full Orchestra) 2400 VOX
3:30-5:00 pm Sectionals 2400, 2451, Choir and Opera rooms
5:00 PM Dinner (on your own)  
6:30 PM Concert: UI Symphony Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Choir: Voxman Concert Hall ---Free and open to public
SUNDAY, February 18 –Hancher Auditorium  
8:30 AM Iowa Honor Band Dress Rehearsal on stage  
9:45 AM Iowa Honor Orchestra Dress Rehearsal on stage (Full Orchestra)  
11:00 AM Iowa Honor Choir Dress Rehearsal on stage
