Summer Chamber Music Tour

UI String Quartet Residency Program
The University of Iowa String Quartet Residency Program continues a long tradition of fostering the highest level of string quartet playing and chamber music instruction at the University of Iowa. This exciting program brings nationally and internationally recognized string quartets to the University of Iowa School of Music annually for extended residences. During their stays on campus, guest artists give public performances, perform outreach events, and give master classes and public presentations on building all aspects of one’s chamber music career. Past UISQRP quartets have included the Brentano String Quartet, the Ying Quartet, the Cavani Quartet, and the Dalí Quartet.
Summer Chamber Music Tour
Each year, several chamber music ensembles are chosen to have the chance to bring their artistry to Iowans outside of Iowa City. A collaborative effort between the University of Iowa String Chamber Music Program and Arts Share, the Summer Chamber Music Tour offers presenting organizations throughout the state the chance to provide high quality artistic experiences to their communities while giving students from the University a meaningful opportunity to get to know people from all across the state. Past tours have included stops in Elk Horn, Winterset, Maquoketa, Glenwood, Council Bluffs, Red Oak and Corning, This season, groups will be performing in Greenfield, Des Moines and Toledo.
