Musical Learning Exchange on Restorative Justice

Musical Learning Exchange on Restorative Justice

Do you know what restorative justice is?

Rather than responding to conflict with punishment, a restorative justice approach aims to heal harms and work through conflict in a productive manner.

Come join a singing, sharing, and learning experience on Tues, April 28 from 5:30-7 PM in the Choir Room (0005. lower level), Voxman Music Building. Dr. Mary Cohen will facilitate a musical learning exchange where participants will sing songs learned by ear (all voices welcome, singing is not required) and we will learn about restorative justice initiatives in the area. There will be opportunities for participants to talk with one another about ideas related to restorative justice.

Guests include Brad Kelly, the Restorative Practices Coordinator for City High School, Laura Cottrell-Atekwana with Restorative Community Partners, and Dorothy Whiston, a longtime RJ practitioner who works with Inside Out Reentry.

This event is free and open to the public.
