Melanie Sigafoose holds a Doctor of Music degree in organ performance from Indiana University, as well as degrees in organ and musicology from the University of Kansas and Bethany College (Lindsborg, KS). She has pursued additional study at the International Summer Music Academy in Leipzig, Germany. Dr. Sigafoose currently serves on the faculty of the University of Iowa School of Music, and is on the music staff at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City, IA. She has also taught on the faculties of Wartburg College, Indiana University, and the University of Kansas. She has performed recitals at the Washington National Cathedral (Washington DC) and at St. Thomas Church (Leipzig, Germany), and has been featured on the radio program Pipedreams. She is active as a church musician, children's choir director, recitalist, clinician, accompanist, and private studio teacher.
