Robert Cook taught music theory and analysis at UI from 2004 to 2019. His current scholarship explores intersections of music and nature. Since 2012 he has published on the compositions of George Crumb. Earlier work concerned transformational approaches to chromatic harmony. He lives in Boulder County, Colorado.
