Coralville Center for the Performing Arts
The 2024-2025 opera season will close with a spring production of French One Acts: "La colombe" and "Rita." These obscure yet treasured pieces have enjoyed a recent resurgence in the opera canon. Gounod’s sparkling score accompanies a farcical tale of seduction, while Donizetti’s Rita takes a darkly comic look at power dynamics in relationships.

How does the ancient, simple act of singing together remind us what our bones already know? How does this humble, collective music-making feed Life and the land that gives us home?
