Undergraduate Piano Auditions

Music student at the piano.**All Auditions for Fall 2021 Admission will be conducted Virtually**

 

Requirements for piano applicants for the BM, BA, and BM in music education: 

Please submit video recordings of works from at least three of the following categories. Each of the works presented must be performed by memory, and the video recordings must be unedited.  

  • One work by Baroque composers Bach, Scarlatti, or Handel (for example a sinfonia, a prelude and fugue, or two movements from a suite)
  • One fast movement from a sonata by Haydn, Marianna Martines, Mozart, Beethoven, or Schubert
  • One work from the 19th century (for example, a Chopin Nocturne, Ballade, Impromptu, or Scherzo; a Rhapsody by Brahms; one of the Scherzos by Clara Schumann; two or three pieces from Robert Schumann’s Fantasy Pieces, Op. 12)
  • One work from the 20th or 21st centuries (for example, a prelude or arabesque by Debussy; a movement from Bartok’s Out of Doors; a movement by Bacewicz; a movement from a Prokofiev sonata; a movement from Liebermann’s Gargoyles) 

 

Requirements for Music Therapy applicants, music minors, and non-music major applicants wishing to study with a piano professor:

Please submit video recordings of any two of the stylistic categories listed above. Each of the works presented must be performed by memory, and the video recordings must be unedited.
