Band Extravaganza
Get Ready for the BOOM at Iowa’s Biggest Band Event!
Join us for the 57th Annual Band Extravaganza — an unforgettable afternoon of music, spirit, and Hawkeye tradition featuring the University of Iowa Symphony Band, Johnson County Landmark, the Hawkeye Marching Band with the Hawkeye Golden Girl and Drum Major, the Iowa Spirit Squads, and Herky the Hawk.
We're also proud to welcome our special guest band, the Marching Lions from Linn-Mar High School.

Eleanor Waltzes: Women’s Poetry and Music for Eleanor Roosevelt During the Great Depression
“Eleanor Waltzes” honors First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt through performances of songs and poetry created and sent to her by American women. The event will also feature an exhibit of materials from the Iowa Women’s Archives and a “making do” reception with 1930s recipes. “Eleanor Waltzes” is part of Sounding the Nation at 250, a series of commemorative concerts surrounding the U.S. Semiquincentennial sponsored by the Society for American Music.
