Music Education

Students interested in pursuing music education at the University of Iowa earn both a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree.  Students seeking licensure/certification in music education should enroll in the B.M. program.  Music education students will earn a Bachelors of Arts in Music Education through the College of Education.

The Bachelor of Music requires a minimum of 120 s.h. of credit.  Students must maintain a g.p.a. of at least 2.00 in all courses for the major and in all UI courses for the major.  They must also complete the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences General Education CLAS Core.
