Kahane to perform at hancher Auditorium Feb. 22 in Iowa City

More than 800 of the country’s best trumpeters from middle school to graduate school will gather in Voxman Music Building to compete in seven divisions. The entire event is free and open to the public.

As a biology major and chemistry minor on the pre-med track, Tyler Draayer, a lifelong violinist, brings this same level of focus to his Iowa musical performances. In spite of his jam-packed schedule, he still finds time to perform with the Campus Symphony Orchestra, finding it “relaxing and therapeutic.”

Wibe is a 2023 graduate of the UI School of Music.

Jayda Hunstad is a student in the UI School of Music Masters of Music Therapy Program, with anticipated graduation date in 2026.
