OVPR supports seven faculty projects through the Arts and Humanities Initiative

Katy Ambrose, assistant professor of horn, was awarded funding to support the new Mid-North Horn Workshop, hosted in the UI School of Music to offer hundreds of horn players across the region access to performance and pedagogy usually only available to musicians in urban areas.

University of Iowa, Iowa State bands unite for historic concert at Chicago Symphony Center

The University of Iowa and Iowa State University have been fierce rivals for more than a century, but for the first time, the U of I Symphony Band and ISU Wind Ensemble will share the same stage, collaborating for a unique concert at the Chicago Symphony Center, home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
